Western Queensland, Australia Bolide Meteor? 23NOV2011

Western Queensland, Australia Bolide Meteor? 0450 Local Queensland Time 23NOV2011
I was airborne flying over Western Queensland last night, at approximately 1850 UTS or 0450 Local Queensland Time on the morning of the 23/11/11. I and several other aircraft in the area observed a very bright series of lights descending in the sky in a cluster at the time. The brightest light was leading the cluster, and there were maybe 10 or 12 smaller lights following. We were facing south east at the time, and the object seemed to be descending from a higher altitude overhead our position to a point directly in front of us at a lower altitude. The object was moving very slow, significantly slower than any shooting star I have ever seen. The lights were visible for about two or three minutes. Several minutes later as the sun began to rise, a smoke trail could be seen that followed the path of the object. It extended from a position just south of Mount Isa and continued south east for several hundred miles towards Charleville, although the trail had dissipated by the time our aircraft had passed Charleville. We were at an altitude of 37000ft and the trail was significantly higher than us. I hope this helps!-Mat Thank you Mat!
