Historically two very large meteorite falls have occurred on 05MAR1960 "Gao-Guinea, Burkina-Faso" and "Jilin, China"  08MAR1976; March historically has at least 66 meteorite falls documented.

Last year, March 2013, was a very active month, 13 newly discovered NEOs with an LD of less than 10LD- 
 2013 EC2013 ET , 2013 EN20 , 2013 ES11 , 2013 ES , 2013 EC20 , 2013 EA29 , 2013 ES41, 2013 ED68 2013 EL89 2013 FG 2013 FD82013 FB8

There are at presently 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 21 known NEOs for March 2014 with an LD of less than or about 10LD; 1 LD = Lunar Distance = ~384,000 kilometers  = 238,607 miles.
